Fluorinar B Kynar PVDF

The Fluorinar™ Kynar® PVDF Filament Family Expands

Nile Polymers is pleased to announce the addition of two new filaments in the Fluorinar™ PVDF family: Fluorinar-B™ and Fluorinar-ESD™. Both materials are built on a foundation of Arkema’s Kynar® PVDF. Unlike other PVDF filaments, Fluorinar™ filaments contain no additional polymer additives or diluents. They provide the best available chemical resistance and high-temperature performance, Kynar® PVDF standards for more than 50 years. All of the Fluorinar™ filaments have additional material qualities such as UV protection, high strength, flame suppression, toughness and flexibility. Because both filaments are based on Fluorinar-C™, outstanding build plate adhesion and zero warping provide a dependable and repeatable printing experience.

Fluorinar-B™

Fluorinar-B™ is a black-colored print filament which combines the dependability of Kynar® PVDF with our Fluorosmooth™ adhesive. Fluorosmooth™ increases the surface energy of the printed part at the interface with the glass build plate. This results in improved bond strength between the printed part and the build surface. Removal of a Fluorinar-B™ print must be done very carefully in order to not damage the glass build plate. The presence of carbon pigment increases the tensile strength and permeation resistance of the final part.

Fluorinar-ESD™

Fluorinar-ESD™ is our new graphene-enhanced electrostatic dissipation (ESD) filament made with Kynar® PVDF. This material is an excellent choice for applications that cannot tolerate static build-up on the printed part. Fluorinar-ESD™ has all of the advantages of Kynar® PVDF combined with the ease of printing associated with Fluorinar™. Our filament carefully calibrates melt viscosity and impact strength so that the final part is both strong and durable. The surface conductivity of printed parts is measured at 2 x 10-5 ohm meters.

Sample filaments are available for both Fluorinar-B™ and Fluorinar-ESD™. We invite you to try these new materials on your next project. Additional information about our Fluorinar™ PVDF filaments and PVDF in general can be found on the following pages:
