Maximum PVDF Adhesion
Like many 3D print filament materials, Kynar® can be difficult to adhere to the print bed surface. One approach to improving PVDF adhesion is to reduce the crystallinity of the polymer by the addition of non-PVDF polymer components. While this may lead to improved print bed adhesion, it also results in the loss of desirable material characteristics such as upper use temperature, chemical resistance and inflammability. These are the property advantages that distinguish Kynar® PVDF from other filament choices. How can we improve PVDF adhesion to the print bed without modifying the base material?
There is a better approach to improving print bed adhesion.
Nile Polymers is pleased to introduce Fluorinar-B™ with enhanced PVDF adhesion. The first layer of our filament adheres directly to the glass build plate. This strong adhesion continues throughout the entire printing process resulting in a part with accurate dimensions and a flat, warp-free bottom. Like all of our filaments, Fluorinar-B™ is made from 100% Kynar® PVDF.
Stop wasting your time with poor PVDF adhesion!
Do-overs stink in 3D printing, a waste of time and materials. Now large parts can be printed without warping or loss of print bed adhesion. Using Fluorinar-B™, the final print remains perfectly flat after completion and cooling. Keep in mind that the printed part must be fully cooled prior to removal from the glass bed. We’ve warned you! Fluorinar-B™ eliminates warping by creating a high-strength bond with the glass build plate. This improved PVDF adhesion is so significant that premature part removal may result in damage to the glass print bed surface. Allow the print to cool before you attempt to remove the part.
Remember that all Fluorinar™ filaments made by Nile Polymers are always 100% Kynar® and 100% PVDF!
